WHAT IS CROMLECHPYRENE?
Cromlechpyrene
Cromlechpyrene is a web site promoted by Juan José Ochoa de
Zabalegui San Sebastián, 1928 an "unlicensed private
eye" who has been hot on the heels of the Pyrenean cromlech
for the last fourteen years, during which he has come to the
reasoned conclusion that, apart from any burial functions
they may have had, all of these monuments always
represent stars or planets.
This
is a non-profit undertaking, a sort of open, non-legal association,
which will continue to exist until an institution, has been
found to take over its proposed objectives.
Its
objectives are:
To
make people aware of the importance of the Pyrenean cromlech
and its meaning.
To
spread news about the research already carried out, with the
aim of confirming the theory.
To
find new researchers who, either disinterestedly, or through
institutions, will continue trying to solve the mysteries
presented in several disciplines by the Pyrenean cromlech.
To
awaken concern about these monuments, thus encouraging professionals
and amateurs to consider them as an unsolved natural mystery.
To
promote the preservation, and even the restoration of these
monuments in order to avoid the destruction from which they
have lately been suffering as a result, among others, of the
building of all kinds of new roads. The ignorance of their
true cultural value, and even of their economical touristic
concerns, are largely contribute to the continuing collective
lethargy surrounding the Pyrenean stone circles.
To
send out any other information requested, free-of-charge.
Likewise,
to answer questions about the Pyrenean cromlech received either
by e-mail, fax or letter.
To
provide free information about the places where these monuments
are to be found.
To
promote the concession of grants for training professionals
capable of researching this field; and for the carrying out
of theses and first researches into the Pyrenean cromlech.
To
make the local tourist organisations and inhabitants of the
areas where these monuments are to be found aware of the number
of tourists who would come to visit them if they only knew
their meaning and to explain that it is they themselves who
are basically responsible for their conservation.
To
back any other important objectives compatible with the above,
and that may arise as the result of suggestions from third
parties.
